I am using this as part of a Historical Investigation for my History course. I was just wondering if the German in this poster could be translated please, as I think this would help me to have a greater understanding of the source as a whole.
The NSDAP is an abbreviation for the Nazi Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei)
Then it basically says the “By joining the NAZI party you are helping to secure the community.” The other words basically say that “The fellow took her advice and joined his local group to help the community.”
I also want to make sure you know by posting this information I don’t in anyway support the Nazi party. I just put this on my site as an example of propaganda. I also put up the propaganda from the Allied group of nations.
Thank you for the swift reply, I found the translation very useful.
Of course I realise you are in no way affiliating with or supporting the Nazi party – this is an extremely useful website for a history student such as myself.
Thank you again! I was also wondering if you had the provenance for it – when it was drawn and when it was released to the public and used as propaganda?

I hope that helps

You’re very welcome 🙂 I used to know German pretty well. It can be hard to translate.

Sorry to be a pain!
Sorry, but I don’t know anything more about the photos. They were actually given to me by somebody that visited my site.
Do you maybe have their contact details please? I’ve seen this poster everywhere but nobody knows its provenance!
Sorry, but I can’t remember who gave it to me. I don’t think they knew much about the posters though.
