How to Make Video Games 31

Legend of Zelda CloneIn the final video of my How to Make Video Games series I’ll cover many things not covered before. We’ll mainly focus on how to animate throwing the boomerang. I’ll animate the path and rotation of the boomerang directly in Unity. I’ll then write the code for stunning the villains hit by the boomerang.

How to Make Video Games 30

Legend of Zelda CloneIn this part of my video game tutorial I will continue making Zelda. I’ll focus this time on something I have not covered before which is how to create the AI for our villain so that he will travel on his own around the game board looking for Link. The villain will travel around using very few system resources. He will be able to locate Link any place on the map. We will use multidimensional arrays to store travel nodes. We will also learn how to find out which node game objects are closest to.

Legend of Zelda CloneI’m working on my next video game tutorial which will be a Legend of Zelda Clone. I want to make it as good as possible and that is why I have hand drawn very detailed Zelda sprite sheets. They are all finished now and can be found below. They are all transparent PNG files. I’m now making the game boards and hope to start the Zelda Clone series this week.

Unravel Gameplay

Unravel GameplayTonight I live streamed the puzzle platformer Unravel and it is one amazing game! The game mechanics are fantastic! The puzzles are challenging, but not sadistic. It is beautiful and I think the story will be as well.

Learn to Crochet

Learn to CrochetI want to start up Maker Monday again and I thought it would be fun to teach everybody how to crochet. I’ll cover how to hold your yarn and hook, as well as Slip Knots, Chain, Single, 1/2 Double, Double and Triple Crochet Stitches.

It is very important when starting to keep your loops loose and to avoid tearing the yarn if it gets snagged. I provide numerous examples on how to avoid these beginner pitfalls. With a little practice you’ll be able to make scarfs, blankets, towels and if people are interested I’ll show how to make hats and just about anything else you can imagine. Ms Pacman CloneIn this video we finish Ms. Pac-Man and learn how to do even more! We’ll create and set up all 4 Ghosts, position Ghosts in the center cell, return Ghosts after eaten, move Ghosts randomly, chase Ms. Pac-Man, have Ghosts eat Ms. Pac-Man, update scores and a whole lot more.
