In this part of my Inkscape tutorial I will finish up covering the Inkscape Filter Editor. If you missed the previous part of this tutorial watch it first because I cover how to fix a common Filter Editor bug.
I cover how to use the Inkscape Displacement Map, Image, Morphology, and Convolve Matrix parts of the Filter Editor. We will create neon signs, ripple water, sharpen, emboss and more.

Notes From the Video
11. CONVOLVE MATRIX
a. Used for blurring, embossing, sharpening and more
b. A convolution is when you take 2 functions and make a third based on them
c. This filter takes pixels around a target pixel and performs calculations to create new colors.
d. Size defines the size of the matrix
e. The target defines the X & Y coordinates for the matrix
f. You change the Kernel values to define changes in pixel colors
I. If you use the same non-zero values you receive consistent changes and vice versa
g. After the numbers in the kernel matrix are added they are divided by this divisor. If the divisor is the sum of the values the colors will be even
h. As the bias is decreased changes to the graphic are effected, while if increased areas surrounding the graphic are effected.
i. Blurring
I. Size : 3 | 3
II. Target : 1 | 1
III. Kernal
i. 1 1 1
ii. 1 1 1
iii. 1 1 1
IV. Divisor : As it increases the graphic blurs away
V. Bias : Refer to Above
VI. Edge Mode : How to extend the effect across the image
VII. Define whether transparency is enforced
ii. Emboss
I. Size : 3 | 3
II. Target : 1 | 1
III. Set center part of Kernel to 8 and everything else to -1
IV. Divisor : 5.00
V. Bias : .6
iii. Edge Detection
I. Size : 3 | 3
II. Target : 1 | 1
III. Same as above
IV. Divisor : 4.8
V. Bias : 1.0
iv. Motion Blur
I. Size : 5 | 1
II. Target : 0 | 0
III. All 1s
IV. Divisor : 4.00
V. Bias : 0.0
v. Sharpen
I. Size : 3 | 3
II. Target : 0 | 0
III. Kernal
i. 0 -1 0
ii. -1 5 -1
iii. 0 -1 0
IV. Divisor : 1.00
V. Bias : 0.0
12. DISPLACEMENT MAP
a. Displacement maps distort images
b. The Displacement Map filter takes the image and the displacement map
c. Then the main image is warped based on the map
d. Scale defines how much to warp and X & Y specifies the color channels to use for displacement
e. Make a Painting out of an image
I. Import Image
II. Draw a rectangle the same size as image and make gray
III. Use Filter -> Bumps -> Plaster on rectangle
IV. Put Plaster rectangle under picture
V. Select Image -> Filter Editor Add Effect Image
VI. Add Effect Displacement Map and point top to image and bottom to Background image X : Blue | Y : Green
f. Add ripple to image
I. Make Ripple pattern -> Group it
II. Object -> Pattern -> object to Pattern
III. Change fill on rectangle to the pattern
IV. Put ripple rectangle behind image and repeat above
13. MORPHOLOGY
a. Used to thin or swell an object
b. You can use raster images or objects
c. An under painting effect
I. Select image
II. Dilate -> Increase Radius
d. Create Neon Sign
I. Text with red 8 px stroke and no fill
II. In Filter Editor put a Color Matrix and point towards Source Graphic.
a. 3 0 0 0 -2
b. 0 3 0 0 -2
c. 0 0 3 0 -2
d. 0 0 0 1 0
III. Add a Morphology with a radius of 6 and point toward Color Matrix
IV. Add 2 Gaussian Blurs. The first has a value of 6 and the 2nd a value of 1.
V. The 1st Gaussian Blur points toward Morphology and the 2nd points to the Gaussian Blur above
VI. The Merge points at the top Gaussian Blur and then at the 2nd Gaussian Blur
can you pls send code for projects like Hotel management or hospital management any language will do pls reply asap.mail me
I’m sorry, but I don’t understand the question.
i want the source code for projects like dis http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBRL81-ivgw
