Circulars or flyers are inexpensive ways to sell a specific product or service. On the other hand brochures can be inexpensive or quite expensive ways to prove to your customers that your business is for real.

I’ve never known these two mediums to work without the use of tele-selling or canvassing. However as the strength of personal letters increases in cooperation with other mediums, the same holds true for circulars. Marketing Examples : Most Successful Ads in History

Many websites give you marketing examples that are the prettiest, most creative, etc. Today I present the most successful 50 magazine ads of all time. What I mean by successful, is return on investment. So if you want to create a successful ad you should use the following ads as a template.

Are these ads creative? Yes, but not at the expense of providing enough information so that the client can make an informed decision on whether to buy. Each ad contains a powerful headline, normally one eye attracting image and more text than you’ll see in many unsuccessful ads of today.

The Marketing Examples below were successful because they were the first to:

  • Market through story telling
  • Turn a negative, of their company into a positive
  • Sell with a money back guarantee
  • Copy the look of the newspaper they appeared in
  • Use creative testimonials
  • Include a snip out request for more information
  • Use odd looking spokes people
  • Use take away sales techniques, ie. this might not be the product for you…
  • Tell the whole story with their photo
  • Include their interesting jingle in the ad
  • Show their product being used in odd ways
  • Use scantily clad women in the ad
  • Simulate using the product, in the ad
  • Provide samples of the product in the ad
