I’m beginning a new Java tutorial using Eclipse as my IDE. Every time I have used Eclipse in the past there have been installation problems so, I’ll try to fix that issue here.
I use Eclipse because in my opinion it is the best free IDE available.
Also note that I’ll provide Java 1.7 installation steps for PCs, but Java 1.6 & 1.7 steps for MACs. The reason why I’m doing that is because Java 1.7 isn’t quite ready yet for Eclipse on MACs.
Don’t worry, there isn’t that much of a difference between Java 1.6 and 1.7. At least for a beginner tutorial.

I’ve received a few requests on how to put an Image Map in a WordPress Post. So, in this tutorial I’ll show you.
WordPress is a bit picky about how you create your image map, but by copying the code below you’ll be making image maps in no time.
You can map out your coordinates using many tools. Dreamweaver actually makes image maps that don’t work in WordPress. A free site image-maps.com, a free site, however creates great image maps.

Not only is this a cross browser horizontal menu that works on browsers all the way back to Internet Explorer 5.5. This menu works without JavaScript on all browsers except for IE 6 & 7.
On top of that the menu works with WordPress themes. In fact list used below is the automatically generated by WordPress.
In this video tutorial, I’ll show you how to design a website quickly.
I start out with a basic sketch that took me 10 minutes to draw. I explain what I’m thinking about as I create that sketch.
I then show you how to quickly draw everything using the free version of Artisteer. After everything looks nice I throw it into Adobe Illustrator for additional editing.
As I look for interesting websites, I normally am not impressed. I’m actually amazed that most every corporate website is either boring, or poorly laid out.
So, I gathered some of my favorite designs here. I tried to focus on sites that had both a great layout as well as typography.
I tried to avoid picking sites that had brilliant photos, or illustrations. I did this so I could focus on great layouts above all else.
