I started this website to answer all questions posed to me. Most times, the questions you ask are great. I’ve answered many of them. I recently received my favorite from Doug Schlesinger. “Teach me how to perform the Jedi Mind Trick.” Well, you might think this is a joke. Obviously I can’t teach a fictional mind trick. I can however teach you all the skills needed to convince people of most anything.

Welcome to the world of Neurolinguistic Programming! NLP is used in nearly every form of professional marketing you consume on a daily basis. It is a branch of psychology, first created, by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. Most of the books and papers they wrote on it are out of print, but your in luck, because I’ve read them all.

NLP techniques are used to figure out how a person’s brain processes information. More specifically how a person:

  • Reasons
  • Gathers Information
  • Decides on Preferences
  • Deals with Stress
  • Emotes
  • Reacts to Situations
  • Makes Decisions

This plugin will automatically submit every post you make on your website to over 30 different social networking sites. Why would you want to do that? Google ranks sites well if they have a large number of in-coming links, that’s why! So by using this tool, everytime you write anything, it will automatically create 30 plus in-coming links for you. I describe exactly how to set it up in the video above.

Also, a person recently left a comment that he, “wanted a plugin that would display links to his social networking pages.” I also describe a plugin that does just that in the video above. It is called Social Profilr. (No that isn’t a typo, it is spelled Social Profilr) If you also want a video custom made for you, just post your question below. I read all of them.

Marketing Examples : Most Successful Ads in History

Many websites give you marketing examples that are the prettiest, most creative, etc. Today I present the most successful 50 magazine ads of all time. What I mean by successful, is return on investment. So if you want to create a successful ad you should use the following ads as a template.

Are these ads creative? Yes, but not at the expense of providing enough information so that the client can make an informed decision on whether to buy. Each ad contains a powerful headline, normally one eye attracting image and more text than you’ll see in many unsuccessful ads of today.

The Marketing Examples below were successful because they were the first to:

  • Market through story telling
  • Turn a negative, of their company into a positive
  • Sell with a money back guarantee
  • Copy the look of the newspaper they appeared in
  • Use creative testimonials
  • Include a snip out request for more information
  • Use odd looking spokes people
  • Use take away sales techniques, ie. this might not be the product for you…
  • Tell the whole story with their photo
  • Include their interesting jingle in the ad
  • Show their product being used in odd ways
  • Use scantily clad women in the ad
  • Simulate using the product, in the ad

Each blog plugin has been tested on the newest version of WordPress version 2.9. Plugins can extend WordPress to do almost anything, but it is possible to have too much of a good thing. Remember for every plugin you add to your site, you are incrementally slowing down your website load time. So choose wisely.

Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator for WordPress: This is the first of the blog plugins to install on your site. It will create a sitemap.xml and robots.txt file for you and then update those files each time you change your site and inform all of the major search engines of the changes. A sitemap.xml file tells search engines:

  • What is on your site
  • What are the most important pages on your site
  • How often the search engine should check your site for changes

Amazingly enough, many web developers do not create this extremely important file for their clients. A robots.txt file, tells search engines where they can locate your sitemap file. The video above shows you how to install and set up this plugin as well as the Google Analytics blog plugin.

One way that people spend more than they should for their website is based off of confusion on what to buy when setting up their website. You should almost never spend more than $7 per month on your website. In this video, I walk you step-by-step through the process of buying a hosting plan with GoDaddy.

I use GoDaddy because they have good support, my website has never been unavailable, and they are cheap. There are many other great hosting companies and this is in no way an advertisement. If you use GoDaddy though you have to watch out because they go out of their way to up sell you products that you don’t need.

Every Major News Organization Killed 1000’s of People Today?

Today, every major news organization announced the death of Alexander McQueen. I do not take this lightly, nor do I want anyone to think I’m in anyway making fun of this situation. I do think it is very important that people know how damaging these stories can be to many people’s lives.

David Phillips pointed out in a research paper in 1974 that immediately following a front-page suicide story, the suicide rate increases dramatically in all areas in which the suicide was highly publicized. Phillips found that certain troubled people who read of another’s self-inflicted death kill themselves. People’s decisions are highly motivated by the acts of others, especially when they can relate to the person. If they are indeed troubled and see that another troubled individual decided to end his life, they follow through with the act themselves. Today, because Alexander McQueen is well known, there is a strong chance that people’s emotions will act in the extreme because of the shock involved.
